We stayed our second night in Kinsale, Ireland. Our walking tour was actually a very short walk and lots of talk, but it was very very enjoyable. We learned all about the old wall that surrounded the original ancient city and where parts of the wall were currently located. We learned that the coastline of Kinsale is now all reclaimed from the sea and a lot of the base of the reclaimed area is the old wall. The old coastline is clearly visible by the main street which twists and turns following that now no longer visible water line.
Yesterday we all had to go back to our room and get warmer clothing as the wind was something! The weather forecast called for clear skies, a lovely sunny day and gale force winds! haha They weren't kidding...especially down by the water.
We ate lunch at the market - I had a lovely parmesan quiche. Tom had sausage, bread and cheese. My sister, Alison had a seafood chowder and my Mother had veggies and potatoes. I didn't actually see what she was eating because she was standing up and I was sitting down.
I actually finished this post ooooh about 14 hours ago in Kinsale - but lucky me, as soon as I hit publish, blogger said that it was down for scheduled maintenance. grrrr, so I lost the rest of my post. The stuff above this paragraph must have been saved before the Blogger shut down.
Now I'm in Dublin - we had a rainy drive today. I'll have to catch up with you all later, as it is nearly 11pm here and we have to get up terribly early to catch our flight to the Isle of Man. Finally we have a hotel where the internet is free (and they have a computer) and I can only stay a moment.
I can't wait to share all of my pictures and stories. Thanks for the wonderful messages you all have been leaving.
