I make no bones about it.
My husband absolutely drives me batty half the time.
...but when it comes to being sentimental about things he does have a soft spot.
It amazes me at what he finds to be sentimental.
One day in Michigan we went to a gas station. He filled the car and I went inside.
The cashier gave me the Sunoco Sun.
I put it on the rear view mirror of Tom's car.
I did it just for fun because neither one of us actually hangs things from our rear view mirrors.
But I did something as I was placing the sun there.
I sang.
I sang "You are my sunshine."
He never took it down.
Last year when Tom was cleaning out his car because he was getting a new car, I told him that he should just toss the ol' sun because he was so faded.
You would have thought I told him to toss out the car!
He said no way because he thinks of me every time he sees it.
Who knew?!!
Have a great day!

*I have a feeling I told this story before, but it's worth repeating.
I don't remember hearing that story before but I certainly did enjoy it. Very sweet!
ReplyDeleteI don't remember it either - - - so chances are if neither Miss Dust nor me, two of your REGULARS remember it, you never told it.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this story - - - not only for the fact that Hubby is sentimental, but also for the fact that he is sentimental about YOU!!!!
Oh that is so sweet. How lucky you are!
ReplyDeleteTom is very sweet. And you must have a lovely voice, too.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I love it, so sweet.
ReplyDeleteNow that is very sweet! That is a love story.
ReplyDeleteThat is very sweet!! I sing that song to my kids and my son has been requesting it at bedtime. Maybe I need to get him a sun to hang from the ceiling...
