A fall birthday

I arrived at my Mom's house on Wednesday and we have been crazy busy getting ready for my little birthday party ever since.  My dear friend, Bob, arrived on Friday night and we made her work, too.  Here she is taking a 5 minute break - I think we have her watching the kids. :)

We set up two chairs behind the dishtowel divider in the backyard as a little semi private place to chat and it was immediately occupied.  Guess that was a great idea!

The food was so good.  We had tossed salad, assorted breads, a pea, dill & feta spread on crustini (a new recipe and it was awesome - a keeper for sure), cheese board, salmon pate and my Dad brought over tenderloin medallions with two different dipping sauces.

I invited my entire highschool class to come to the party and 7 people were able to attend.  That's pretty good!  These girls were the first to arrive, so we had a little picture taking session.

When our classmate the police officer arrived we took another round of photos.  We had a few more people arrive, but unfortunately I guess we were all photo'd out because we didn't get one of them.  I didn't even get a picture with my friend, Bob!

My littlest niece, Scarlett's birthday is just a few days before mine, so we celebrated both birthdays.  She was much more interested in the pumpkins and little tree branch than she was the burning candles and the singing.

I had planned on a chilly October day, but instead it was nearly 80ยบ and truly gorgeous.  It's been a long time since it's been this warm in October, but I wasn't complaining one bit.  It was a beautiful day to have an outdoor fall garden party.

Have a great day!

  1. I've been getting broken images for the past couple of days on your blog... I'm not sure if your photo host is having problems or what, but I just thought i'd let you know!

  2. So glad you had a happy birthday, and a happy end of 1000 days.

Here's to you, for all you accomplished, and learned as a result. I still have 571 days to go. Your party looks like a blast.

To me, it's a good sign, if you're having too much fun to take pictures. ;-)
