POTD - Snapdragons

I took this photo on St. Patrick's Day 2011 in Jacksonville, Fl. It got up to 80ยบ this afternoon and the humidity is not an issue yet. This time of year with cool nights and warm days are the ones that make me love living here. The flowering trees have flowered and are now green. Landscaping companies are planting flowers in all of the condo communities and businesses. Instead of a dull green, the new sprouts of the palm tree fronds are lighter and brighter! The Summer heat will be here so fast I don't even want to think about it - but the past few weeks have been gorgeous, just like the snapdragons I found.
Enjoy!

Snapdragons are one of my fave annuals!
ReplyDeleteMy great grandmother always had forests of them, and i would wear the blooms on the tips of my fingers...thought I was such a grand lady with flowertips!
I plant them every year as a result!
and sometimes wear them on my finger tips!
I like snapdragons too. We used to have some in our yard growing up. I think I liked the name of them so that's why I like them.
ReplyDeleteIt finally got up to 63 here in Cleveland yesterday! Great weather for the parade. 80s is my favorite temperature though.
Very vibrant!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. That is what the weather in California is like, makes it lovely. Even the low humidity in Florida a few weeks ago made my head sweat!
ReplyDeleteAm up in Minneapolis and cannot WAIT until that kind of weather arrives here!!

Well, your snapdragons are right purdy, but I think your weather is making the biggest impression on me. I can bear 80 if it isn't humid. The person living in 63----that's about perfect for me. If the sun will shine.
ReplyDeleteI imagine that SOME DAY snapdragons will bloom in central Wisconsin - - - but that day is NOT today.
