POTD - Reality Check
©2011 Kristin Corlett
I saw this sign on the side of the road the other day. I actually thought it was pretty funny - Operation Reality Check? I want to know who's checking?!
I know, I know, the little hurricane symbol is also on the sign but still it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. After I looked up Operation Reality Check I found out that people who live in a storm surge area are supposed to understand what the storm surge is in their area and have a family disaster plan in place before a hurricane hits the area. I don't think this sign conveys that urgency, but maybe the folks who live in that area are aware of it.
Enjoy!

I didn't know there even was a hurricane symbol. Could I copy your picture to use on my "Things I Learned this Week" post on Friday with a link back here or could you email it to me so I could use it (zemeks at sbcglobal dot net)?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know what it referred to but now that I know, although there is no sense of urgency to it, it is definitely a good reminder. Cool shot.
ReplyDeleteNot the best sign. It could be mistaken for a reality TV ad.
ReplyDeleteI kinda thought it had something to do with hurricanes but had nothing after that. Love it though.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a sign like that one in my house. That is really great! I saw a Purina checkerboard the other day and can't get it out of my mind. I need a reality check because 1, I can't afford that sign and 2, I don't have anywhere to put it!
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Might be confusing to those moving into a hurricane area and don't know the signage, I know I wouldn't!
ReplyDeleteWell, Live and Learn! I could have Reality Check posted in every room of my house. . . . .
ReplyDeleteInteresting sign. Thanks for the explanation.
