Fay is almost gone
This was the weather when we FINALLY got our power back today around 6pm.
We were without power for almost 24 hours. We had a few hours of power this morning but the wind and rain was just non stop.
There was this beautiful "dry eye" right in the center of the storm, but we never saw it. The entire first floor of our condo building is wet. No one lives on the first floor - it holds our storage closets, the lobby, the parking garage and the exterior private garages. We've had trouble with water getting into our building before and now after this storm, I guess we all know that the problem wasn't fixed.
I am watching the news right now and they are reporting on all of people who were driving in this storm. The roads all over town are flooded - extreme flooding. Why do people feel the need to drive? I hardly felt the need to walk down 5 flights of stairs to get the mail, I did it, but I wasn't thrilled. You couldn't have paid me to drive anywhere. I have three rental units - I'll check them tomorrow :)
I will sleep well tonight, the A/C is on, the ceiling fans are whirling, the fridge is cooling and I've got internet. My house is dry and I'm very happy. I hope that everyone who are in the path of Fay now have fewer days of it and less water.
Sleep well,
Kristin
