GTKY - Christmas Edition
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? I like wrapping paper best.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Artificial
3. When do you put up the tree? Sometime before Christmas!
4. When do you take the tree down? Before Valentines day. (I'm serious)
5. Do you like eggnog? Not really
6. Favorite gift received as a child? A stereo system w/ record player. I just loved it.
7. Hardest person to buy for? Daddy, it's you! My husband comes in a very close second.
8. Easiest person to buy for? Me! hahaha My sister.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? 100% snail mail.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? anything scented because I can't use it - but the worst gift that "we" received was a Billy Big Mouth Bass.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? A Christmas Story & It's a Wonderful Life.
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually during art fairs through-out the year.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Oh yes.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My Mothers Christmas breakfast
16. Lights on the tree? I like the big mulitcolored lights.
17. Favorite Christmas song? The old fashioned classics - Bing Crosby and the like.
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? It depends. The past three years I've stayed home. My husband and I usually spend the afternoon at the Mayo Clinic hospital talking with transplant patients.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner & Blitzen. (and Rudolph.)
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? I have a star (painted as a Santa)
21. Open presents on Christmas eve or morning? Christmas morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? traffic
23. Favorite ornament theme or color? I don't have a theme, unless not a theme is a theme. My favorite ornaments are those that my sisters and I get every year - our mother started giving us each an ornament from the same design type but a different figure. One year we all received painted wooden Guatemalan houses, in miniature of course lol But each of us got a different house.
24. Not sure what happened to #24. -- so lets see, I'll make one up! What do you do on Christmas Eve? When I am in Michigan I go around to all the neighborhoods and look at the luminarias all lit up. In Florida, we usually go out and look at Christmas lights.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? My Christmas would be fabulous if I could find something that my husband liked and was excited about -- so that's what I want for Christmas!

I love that you go to the hospital and spend time with the patients. That says alot about you. You are caring, compassionate, passionate and unselfish. I think that is wonderful.
I also liked "Billy Big Mouth Bass" I had to laugh b/c for the past three years I have begged my husband for Buck the Deer that talks and my husband refuses to get it for me. I want it so bad. Who knows where I'd put it but its hysterical!

After Christmas! This year I will take it down when we get back from Ohio - so the weekend of the 3rd or 4th!

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I wait till after Thanksgiving! But I don't have many people I buy for...so it's not a big deal!
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes! The clothes that didn't fit me! I gave it to a friend for her b-day!!! HA!!! She didn't even know and she LOVED it!!!
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Food! lol Last year Shad's mom did a Christmas breakfast but it was after Christmas! It was still rocking good! So I would say her Christmas breakfast! We will get it again this year but it will be after Christmas - we won't get to Ohio till Dec 26th!!

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Last year we were at home and didn't leave! This year we will go to Shad's brother's and then the next morning fly to Ohio!!!!

That was FUN!!!
We go to the May Clinic Hospital because on Christmas day in 2005 Tom was just two days post transplant surgery. They had a Santa come visit, the hospital clergy came by and a few folks that were visiting other patients came in and said hello. The next year my husband suggested that we go up to the hospital, so I made up about 50 baggies of cookies (individually packaged, so there was no cross contamination for the patients) - I made the cookies - and we passed them out. The next year we did the same.
