This was the blog post where I posted close up photos of the Treadle, and talked about the manual that I also had.
Hi, Kristin...I was flabbergasted when I saw your blog about the New Model A sewing machine. My wife has one exactly like it that I've been trying to restore for her. The cabinet is in pretty good shape, but the machine itself has been somewhat neglected over the years. I've been trying to find a manual for some time and am hoping you still have yours.
If so, can I talk you into scanning it and sending me a copy? I really need it to figure out how this thing works!

I did scan the pages of the manual. There were only 18 pages, so it was an easy request to honor. I've offered to take additional photos of mine if he needs some more assistance. The manual mostly showed how to use the sewing attachments but there some helpful hints on how to thread the machine and what parts need to be oiled.
I hope that JJ gets that treadle working for his wife.
...and I hope that I continue to get interesting emails from people who find things on my blog that interest them.

Guess what. I was grocery shopping last weekend. while I was bagging my groceries the lady next to me was bagging hers - in a bucket. Just like yours! It made me think of you. I'm a dork I know.
I have the manuel to my Singer which belonged to my grandfather.
He was a tailor.
That's one of my favorite things about the internet!

Ditto---on the awesome part. We were just pleased as can be to find an old Kenmore for our granddaughter to make costumes on. The manual was with the machine, too. The only tricky part has been finding Kenmore needles on the Gulf Coast.
Any chance you could send me the manual too? I have a Model A as well. Thanks!
I just bought a machine like this but it doesn't have the manual. Do you still have a copy?? It would help me get it working again immensely!!

So glad I found your Blog! I too have a Minnesota Model A with no Manual. It belonged to my great grandmother and I learned to sew on this machine. When I received this machine it came to me in bad shape. The machine has some rust, but the parts seem to still work. I think the manual would really help and hope you can e-mail me a copy as well.
