new places to explore

I was poking around Etsy last night, found something I really liked which led to me to send a message to the seller to tell her that I loved her item and the backdrops in her photos.

She replied, thanked me and told me where she purchased said backdrop.

(It's a green door)

I Googled the location and discovered the place she mentioned has a giant antique mall open 7 days a week and a flea market on the weekends.

When I replied and told my new best friend that I am now excited about my unexpected road trip to the flea market and antique mall she told me of a small town just a little further down the road where Doc Hollywood was filmed.

The majority of the film was shot in Micanopy, Florida with additional scenes in McIntosh, Florida. The gazebo and some downtown shots with the big were shot in Ocala, Florida. Most of the cast and crew stayed at The Residence Inn in Gainesville while some members of the cast stayed at two bed and breakfasts in Micanopy. The Ocala Film Commission

All this fun information and new places to explore because I wrote a message telling someone that I liked their work.

You just never know what will come when you write a little note.

Oh and while I was poking around on Etsy, I decided to create my own treasury.  A treasury consists of 12 items (update: I obviously can't count - it's 16!) from other Etsy shop owners all together in a group that relates to some kind of topic.  My topic was shabby chic, but when I started looking at all of the different items I chose to be a part of it, I realized it was more updated shabby chic instead.

You can click to enlarge and/or go right on over
to the treasury on Etsy by clicking here.

Take a look if you'd like.  (please do!!)  I'm so excited that I finally made one these.
Cheap thrills if nothing else :)

Have a great day!
Kristin

great story - I've written authors and have gotten replies so it never hurts to try.
I took a look - like the shelf with mason jar.

Oh my, this is a fun post. I can't wait to check them out. Love the idea of the rake holding items like pictured. Can't wait to see what you take pictures of when you venture out!
