I'd like to unkink my spine please

 The Spine.

You know it's there when it hurts, that's for sure.

Something happened to me over the weekend and I pulled, pinched or tore something around the C5 - C7 area of my spine.  I have bent and twisted and tried to get the kinks out, but there's no unkinking it.  My problem is that I have this spot of pain that doesn't go away no matter what type of pain reliever I take and my arms have been going numb intermittently.  Today however, my right arm has been numb all day.

I've never been to a Chiropractor and have always been very nervous about anyone touching me - anything more than a hug and I'm freaked out.  I don't like my shoulders rubbed, my back scratched or my feet worked on.  When I realized that I needed to go to the Chiropractor, I swear my heart started beating out of my chest.  I'm such a pansy sometimes.

I went for the evaluation, a few xrays and consultation.  Tomorrow (Thursday) I'm going back to see what the xrays showed and hopefully something can be done.

I'm used to being the caregiver - I'm not liking this "being the patient" kind of thing.  Here's to hoping that it's purely temporary and that within a few days the kink can be unkinked.  I'll surely let you know!

Have a great day!
Kristin

A close friend of mine is a chiropractor, and I always turn to him for everything. They can fix anything! As a matter of fact, I had a rib that I believed was out and he met me in the parking lot of Goodwill just to check me out! lol I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so it's nice to have someone check me for enlarged organs and what not. That's what I thought was wrong with me yesterday, but it turned out that it was just a pulled muscle. But you will be fine, chiropractors are amazing! Like I said on facebook, I've been seeing one on a regular basis since I was about 12. I totally recommend them!
I've always said in the past that I should have married an Italian chiropractor, because I love Italian food and love chiropractic care! ;)

Hope you feel better soon!

I saw one regularly many years ago. It didn't seem to work at first but after a few visits it was amazing. Often they can give you special exercises to help.
all the best.

Sure hope you aren't in pain for long and it can be fixed up easily!

I hate when people even pop their knuckles so I was hesitant myself. I just went my first time ever a few months ago... its not as bad as you think. & they're aware of people who are nervous & go slow.

So sorry to hear this. Hope that this will be something that can be fixed/healed quickly and you will be back to yourself soon. ((HUGS))

I have been going to a chiropractor for many years, and both of my kids have seen chiropractors on and off from the time they were infants. Our current Chiropractor is awesome - when we took Danny in at about 6 months old, he felt his spine and immediately asked if he had gut problems/poop problems, because he could FEEL it. I hope that you got someone good and they help your back!

Oh Honey, I don't like to be touched either. I hope your doctor's visit is helpful and is worth enduring any poking and prodding. Prayers that you will get past this soon.

You would like my chiropractor. Her style is very minimalistic. More like a light touch massage then an adjustment. She tells the body what to do to correct it self by working with the meneges (sp?). She has done amazing things for me since I started going almost a year ago. I hope you found relief and help from your visit.
