Friday Fragments

It's Friday Fragment day!!  I'm home and have a lot of thoughts swimming around my head, so this is a great place to toss those thoughts into the wind  and see what kind of a post comes from it :)  To meet the other Friday Fragmentors, please head on over to Half Past Kissing Time and see what Mrs. 4444's (Mrs. Fours) has written and see who all has already posted their FFs. (So far there are 59 links!  Congrats Mrs. 4444's - That's wonderful!!)

I love it when I see these fun craft projects. I really think I missed out having children because this would be fun!      Ice Cube Art      Maybe I'll borrow my nieces when I go home in May :)

I know it's not Christmas, but I was thinking about this record the other day, which was one of my favorites as a kid.  I loved that it was red and that I could see through it. It was my own personal Rose Colored Glasses.   I used to walk around my room looking at things with my record on my face.  Kids are so goofy!   My other favorite record was called "Jokes and Riddles and Lots of Laughs."  Oh goodness, I laughed and laughed!  Then when I was older and my sister would play that record I thought I would go crazy!  I finally understood when my mother would come in and ask me to please turn it off. haha

One of my favorite websites has done a bit of updating.  I'm loving it.  Have you ever seen "Young Me/Now Me"?  Well, if you haven't (and even if you have) check out a few of these pictures that I chose last night. -- here, here, here, here, here, here and finally here.

Umbrella art - here   Oh, I love this!!! I saw that it was in Santa Cruz and I was so excited that someday when I went to visit my friend in Santa Cruz, CA that I'd be able to see it. Well, in mapping it out - it's actually halfway across the world, not in California lol Oh well. At least I have seen it in a photo. What fun!

My sister said --- "If you watch Jaws backwards, it's about a shark that throws up people until they are forced to open a beach ;)"

I don't know if she made that up or heard it somewhere, but a week later I am still laughing about it!

I was chatting with a friend of mine yesterday when I asked her if she was at home because it was really quiet.  She said that nope, she was at work.  She is an educated, skilled, intelligent woman and her task was putting labels on photos.  She was also fairly sure that her boss was going to tell her that it wasn't done correctly.  sigh.  She said that she mentioned her mind numbing job to someone and they said..."Be the best prisoner you can be."  Ain't that the truth :)  Sometimes when your situation is clearly not where you want to be, be the best you can anyway. I hope she finds a new job that utilizes all of her talents, but until then, she will be the best prisoner she can be.

I'm still watching the Olympics.  I recorded every night in prime time and the late night segment, too.  I was afraid I might not have enough room on my DVR by the time I returned home from Rome, but thankfully I deleted a ton of movies and had plenty of space.  Since I never watched any of the Olympics live, I am pretty much clueless as to the winners of each sport - well, with the exception of Hockey :)  Facebook was pretty much plastered from top to bottom with those results.  I have such a short memory that they rest of the winners I really can't remember, so I'm still enjoying each of the recordings.  I think I'm finally up to day 8.

Say it with me - U S A - U S A :)

Look what I got in the mail last week!  It's a GOAT! :)  Leigh from Tales from Bloggeritaville found it on one of her travels and just had to get it.  I'm so glad she did because I love it.  It's a painted metal piece.  It's got a stamp in the corner, a post mark near the bottom and writing that is not in English.  (I figured that out all by myself!)  I just love it.  Thanks so much Leigh!!  I can't wait to meet you in real life, in person and hug the stuffing out of you in just two weeks!!  Whooo!

Now that's a great way to end a Friday Fragment post :)

Thanks for joining me in all of my fragmented beauty.  It's been a lot of fun.

I love the link to the "then & now" photographs. What fun! I'm going to look through old pictures of my children & see if I can talk them into posing again now as adults. What fun. Thanks for the inspiration.

I really loved the Young Me/Now Me website--very funny.

Kristin, is that a 6pt font? I know I need an eye exam, but it makes me feel old; squinting so hard to read your post. I prefer to blame it on the font, rather than my eyes. What's your verdict?

The JAWS joke is very funny!!!
