Not gonna do it

I watched the Amazing Race tonight on TV. It is one of my very favorite reality shows. I notice while watching it season after season that I do find myself saying "You will never get me to do that. Not even for a million dollars." The other day Leigh from Tales from Bloggeritaville and I had a short email conversation about bungee jumping. We talked about how neither one of us would do it. EVER.

When I wrote out my list of 101 Things to do in 1001 days I mentioned that I didn't put things on that list like bungee jumping, skydiving or cave exploring. I am not an adventurer. I like to see things, but I don't have to get into the middle of a killer wave on a surf board to know who I am. If I need to figure out who I am by bungee jumping then I didn't need to know that particular part about myself. If it was really really important that I know that part about me, it will be shown to me in a way that I understand.

My husband has wanted to go on the Amazing Race since the day it aired. He would always tell me that he knew how to sail, row, farm, haul - whatever it was - he knew the best way to complete the task. Now that he is immune suppressed he will never be able to - it is just too dangerous for his health to be in the environments that participants are asked to go in. But I tell you, I always wondered what would happen if they asked him to bungee jump. He probably would have done it, but it has never been on his to do list either. or his to want list.

I moved from Michigan to Florida because it got too cold for me in Michigan. I don't like scary movies because they make my stomach upset and my dreams vivid. I don't like green peppers, high heeled shoes, wool clothing, glitter, spicy foods, lights in my eyes when I'm trying to sleep, wind blowing in my face, perfume...

I wonder if the things I don't like and the things I won't do are too long of a list. But you know what? I'm not going to think about the negatives any more this evening. But I did want to make it perfectly clear...I will not go bungee jumping. I don't care how much you pay me.

I think my list of dislikes is much longer than my list of likes too.

But I would probably go bungee jumping. I wouldn't seek it out though, but if the opportunity was in front of my face, I'd do it. For free even.

I don't blame you for moving from the cold though. I'd love to do that.

I'm with you on this one sister! Can't pay me to do that. All I can see is that cord breaking and my life ending in a puddle of mushy and bloody flesh. (sorry for that visual, but I'm sure you know what I mean).

Jeez...I'm with you on this one too! My dork sister, however, did bungee jump from a bridge while on safari in Africa (her first time to Africa)...told me about it afterward, proud to have jumped from the highest point in Africa, etc....I just glared at her and mumbled something about having to identify her remains as corned-beef hash was NOT MY IDEA OF FUN. she is busy defending herself from evil toilet frogs etc, while living in Africa...well, you know the story!

I wouldn't go bungee jumping either. I would have before I had kids, but I don't want to do anything stupid now that I have them. It's funny in that last paragraph about your dislikes. Alot of them are things that I love! lol Like scary movies, spicy foods and glitter! lol
I wish I could move to Florida, I hate cold weather too! Have a great day!
