POTD - Cabbage

Cabbage - by Kristin Corlett

This giant cabbage was a part of the hundreds waiting to be harvested from the fields of Lansing Gardens in Lansing, MI.

Enjoy!

Kristin, I used to grow cabbages the size of basketballs. It completely amazed my grandma and uncle floyd. I love this photo. OH, here's something else interesting - i used to put powdered sugar on the cabbages when they got those mealy worms. the sugar would kill them almost instantly - how's that for an organic pesticide. have a nice day.

Drops of water fascinate me. I've taken hundreds of photos trying to capture the sparkle.. the reflective nature... and just can't do it justice, even as pretty as the pictures are. I think droplets of water are gorgeous!

I like the way the cabbage with the water droplets turned out in your photo. Very nice!

I just noticed the holes in the leaves... peeking through the worm hole was cool too! Great eye Kristin.

Just Breathe - Thanks so much! You are going to love a new camera :) My trip is going so quickly - there is never enough time.

Ruth Ann - Be sure and post the recipe on your blog when you do make them!

Lori - Powdered sugar? I've never heard of such a thing. I never had any luck growing cabbage because of all of the bugs.

Jennifer - Thanks. I love the water droplets, too. I know what you mean about not being able to do it justice.

Georgie - Thanks!

Leigh - Aww Thanks!
