POTD - Glass Doorknobs
Nothing makes me swoon faster than seeing original glass doorknobs on original doors. (I don't get out much) Tom and I only stumbled upon one open house yesterday and it turned out to be one of my all time favorite houses. This doorknob and all of her friends, were only just the beginning to a small love affair I had with that house.

Well, that sounds like good clean fun, and Tom was with you, after all. Nothing makes me swoom like old houses with loads of original gorgeous woodwork.
We stayed at a B&B in Bay City where the original owner (a Lumber baron, naturally) had artisans from Germany there for years doing spindles and stairways and other cool stuff. Built in glass fronted bookcases, etc. Awesome.
the first house we bought, which was right here in Marion btw, had original glass door knobs on all the doors. Our kids called them diamonds.
Funny how such a little thing can have such a big effect on us. Maybe it's an omen! (a good one)
