Oh No! Handmade??

Oh no...

I don't know what I've done to myself.

Last night as I was catching up on my Google Reader (I gleaned through about 1000 posts!) I spotted a note about a Handmade Ornament Swap.  Of course last night was the final day to apply to be involved, so I had only a few hours to think about it.

I haven't signed up for any Christmas Swaps (I actually haven't seen a single one!) so I impulsively joined in.

Then I really read the instructions.

"You are to make 10 ornaments."

Oh man!

I gotta make something?

I gotta make 10 somethings?

I gotta make 10 somethings that I'd be proud to send and receive?

What did I just do to myself?!

I make a few things, but none of them can be translated into an ornament.  So I have spent most of the day today Googling  things like "ornament swap," "handmade ornaments," and searching Flickr for ornament swap photos.

Here were some of the projects that I bookmarked.
All of the photos belong to the website that is linked below them.

This looks fairly easy and I might be able to use my photos in a few squares.

I recently acquired a sewing machine, so this might not be out of reach.

I love junkmail art.

HA!!!  This is just so funny!!!

there is always a chance I could make something like this!

once again, I might be able to figure out how to make these.

Oh oh oh - There's this project.  I really like these.

I can make these and I want to.  Whether or not I decide to send these, I'll make them for me.

As you can probably tell, I'm partial to paper things.  I think I have a pretty good idea, finally, of what I might make, but I'm not going to spill it quite yet.

Just send good crafty thoughts my way...I'm going to need it.

Have a great day!
Kristin

Wow, that should be fun. I haven't made any ornaments in years. I think I made Shrinky Dinks once!
My husbands Nana use to put a picture of family into half of a walnut shell. I still have them.

Zora and I made glittery gold and silver starburst shapes out of popsicle sticks last year.
