WFMW - Write on your Comforter

This week I am featuring one of my tips that has saved me from pulling out all of my hair.

Seriously.

I'm sure that many of you have a duvet cover for your bed. If you have a King size bed the comforter is probably very close to being square - but not quite. If you put it in a duvet cover and you have the side where the top should be, the duvet cover just doesn't fit. This means that you have to pull out the whole comforter, turn it around, wrestle with it and shove it back into the duvet.

At this point I am mad, sweaty, frustrated and no longer in a good mood. Getting the comforter into the duvet once is a feat, you might as well get it right the first time.

I have solved this problem in my house.

My comforters are never going to see the light of day without a duvet cover, so I decided to write on them with a black sharpie.

I wrote on both sides of the comforter.
I needed this to be foolproof.
"Top and Bottom" and both "Sides"

I know this seems SO simple. It hardly seems like a tip lol

I was nervous about writing on my comforter at first because I might ruin it. When in actuality I was saving the comforter from certain death!

I have washed this comforter 20 times or more and the words are still there and still helpful. Do this. I did it for my Queen comforter as well.

As an added bonus - I'll toss in this tip. Write on your mattress pad. I write the size, too. I can never tell them apart.

Please leave a comment and then go to Rocks in My Dryer for so many more wonderful tips.

Have a great day!
Kristin

Wow, GREAT tip! Don't know why I've never thought of that! - DUH! What a great idea. We have a white cover but I'm sure I could write it small enough it wouldn't show through...

Valley mom - you could sew a letter using white thread on the comforter instead of using a Sharpie... An S for the sides and a T or B for those tops and bottoms.

I just love this tip, if I do say so myself, because it is something that everyone should know, but it just never occurred to them before.

Love it!
Thanks for stopping by!

So simple! Why didn't I ever think of this? If I had, I might still have some hair on my head.

Thanks!

Great tip! We don't have a duvet cover, but the mattress pad thing is great.

Ah yes, I know the mad, frustrated, sweaty, no longer in a good mood bit all too well. At least I'm not the only one...

That is a great idea. Sometimes the most obvious things just escape me. Thanks for pointing it out; I'm going to try this.

Oh my goodness, yes! Good tip! I can't tell you how many times I have wrestled with the duvet cover. We recently retired our duvet cover and got a new actual bedspread. I don't miss the wrestling right now.

Thanks for stopping by my place!
