Garage Sale part two

The sale started at 8am and for the most part, everyone waited until 8. But maybe it's because we were at the end of a long street. Whatever the case, I got a chance to get most of my stuff out of boxes. What I didn't get out, the first few people helped get everything out.

Lots of the neighbors participated and they all dropped by to meet my friend and her husband. (they're fairly new to the neighborhood)

I had good stuff and lots of little things that kept people there awhile. I handed the shoppers plastic bags to help contain their goods, so they could shop longer.

One of the things I had for sale was this small collection of drawers. I bought about a dozen of them several years ago. I painted them, put some cool knobs on some of them and I used them in the garage when I had a house - and now I have them in the laundry room here at the condo. I wasn't using these three, so I put them in the sale.

Not a single person asked about them, picked them up, or even offered to buy the knobs! I'm quite surprised. I had the drawers marked at a dollar. I'll put them back in the laundry room with the other ones.

After the community garage sale was over, we were supposed to put everything at the road that we wanted to donate to charity. At 1:00 the van came by and I gave away everything that was leftover, except this small box of stuff. That was so cool for us and for the charity - In about 15 minutes they got a huge van load of items and those of us who were a part of the community garage sale were more willing to give it away if we only had to haul it to the end of the driveway!

The little box I saved, I probably should have given away, but out of three carloads full of stuff I'd say that isn't bad at all. I was on the fence about selling some of the items in this box, so it's OK that I brought it back home.

Oh and by the way - I made $340 in 4 hours. Not bad at all.

Totally worth it.
Totally.

Have a fabulous weekend!
Kristin

If you set something free, and they return to you, they are yours...right? You and the drawers are meant to be together...and since there a three, maybe you could repaint them and give them to your nieces as special memory boxes or something!

You did awesome!!! I love your drawers! They must be very convenient to have in your laundry room. I need to put shelves in my laundry closet. I haven't done it yet.

My son needed two of my pieces of wood to make his Pool table. So since I needed to keep him busy, I let him have them. I'll get to my laundry room eventually.

I am really happy for your monetary gain, this should really help with your trip!! Awesome!!

Have a great week.
