Friday Fragments

Friday Fragments is hosted by Mrs. 4444 over at Half-Past Kissing Time. She and many others  put their little bit and pieces of unrelated pieces of goodness and laughter into one post and then share it with the other fragmentors (fragmentors or fragmenters?)  and their friends.  Please go visit the other FF posts, when you finish with mine of course!

Paint with tea.  I just saw this lovely card and tutorial over at Creature Comforts and she's offering up the card as a free printable.  There are so many lovely posts on the Creature Comforts blog, so feel free to look around!

When I was in Gulf Shores I had dinner at a little place called Tip Seas in Orange Beach.  We were one of the last tables to leave that night, so when the two girls and a guy sitting at the table next to us started goofing around we were witnesses to it.  One of the girls knocked over the boys beer, nearly onto his lap, but as he was jumping up out of his chair he hollered out - "Jesus in the morning!"    Maybe I shouldn't talk about this on Easter Weekend, but I have to admit it was funny.  So my mother says to the other girl, "I've never heard that expression before."  and she says "What?!!  You all must not be from the South!"  I had no idea it was a Southern expression - I guess we don't get that here in Florida.

So have you heard that expression?  I never had.

I have seen this photo all over the internet for a couple of years now.  I don't know who to credit for the photo.  One of my tenants received a liver transplants the other day and whenever I see a new transplant the first thing that comes to mind is "You are beautiful."  Almost always, they are positively glowing.  It's such an amazing experience for all involved.

April is Donate Life Month! Are you an organ donor? Visit www.donatelifeflorida.org to register. If you live outside of Florida, visit www.donatelife.net to find out how to register in your state and to get more information on organ and tissue donation.

I just spent the past thirty minutes with my hands in chicken salad - literally.  I made the salad a few days ago but the red onion I used was way too strong.  Even too strong for my husband, which I didn't think was possible.   Of course I chopped the onion into tiny pieces instead of my usually large chunks, so today I finally decided to roll up my sleeves and dive in.  The chicken salad was so good otherwise.  Now I can eat it.  I bet it will be gone by tomorrow night :)

The recipe for my chicken salad is here - I just switched out the turkey for chicken.

It's been such a pleasure sharing my Friday Fragments with you.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

A good thing to do with any raw onion you are using in salads, guacamole, etc. is to chop it, then let it sit in a bowl of very cold water for about 15 minutes, then drain it. This takes away the bite, leaving you with a more mellow onion flavor. xo Marg

Thanks for the links. No I have never heard anyone say that. What does it mean? I know that I say OMG allot. "Jesus in the morning!"

My daughters and I talked about organ donation today. I made sure they understood that I am a registered organ donor and asked if they would want to donate their organs if (God forbid) something happened. They both said yes.

I haven't heard "Jesus in the morning" but my grandfather used to say "Good God Almighty!"

Have a happy Easter!

I've heard "Great day in the morning" but never "Jesus in the morning", and my family is as Southern as they come.
Thanks for the Donate Life links! I'm a very strong believer in organ donation.
